The SASH Research Project (Social Aspects of Self-Harm, including drug and alcohol use) investigated what people aged 14-16 had to say about: drug and alcohol use, and self-harm. The project ran from 2013-2014. Findings are being written up, links and further info on the blog.
The project held interviews, an online survey, and group discussions with young people (mostly in Edinburgh, UK), to explore their views about:
- why people use drugs and alcohol
- why people self-harm
- what (if anything) can we do to help people who self-harm or use drugs and alcohol
Feel free to explore the site to find out more about the project. Over time I’ll be adding updates to the blog and letting people know what the project finds out.
